Camera works? Scan a QR code
Use the free online QR scanner, or get the QR Scanner App for fast scanning with zoom, flash and tap-to-focus. Basic scanning is free, with extra features as a fair one-time payment (no subscription).
Modern phones have several lenses, and the browser lists each one plus some combined "virtual" cameras. An iPhone Pro, for example, can show the triple, dual wide, ultra wide, dual, wide, telephoto and front cameras. The combined cameras switch lenses on their own when you zoom.
Browsers get a video stream from the camera, not a full photo. Video is usually limited to Full HD or 4K, so a 12 or 48 megapixel camera shows a lower number here. Choose "Highest available" to see the most your browser allows.
Allow camera access for this site in your browser settings and reload the page. Close other apps that use the camera, such as video calls. On a computer, also check that the webcam is plugged in and not turned off by a privacy switch.
