Is This QR Code Safe?

Worried a QR code might be a scam? Upload the image or paste the link and we reveal where it really leads, then flag common warning signs - before you open anything. It all runs in your browser.
Drop a QR image here
or click to choose a file (PNG, JPG, ...)

The code is read and checked entirely in your browser. Nothing - not the image, not the link - is uploaded to any server.

How the safety check works

1

Read the code

Upload a photo or screenshot of the QR code, or paste the link if you already have it.

2

See the destination

We show you the exact link the code points to, so you can check it matches the brand or business you expect.

3

Spot the red flags

We flag common scam signals - insecure links, raw IP addresses, look-alike domains and hidden shortened links.

Stay safe every time you scan

QR code scams ("quishing") are on the rise. The QR Scanner App shows you what a code contains before it opens anything, so you are never taken somewhere unexpected. Basic scanning is free, with extra features as a fair one-time payment (no subscription).

QR Code Safety FAQ

Quishing is phishing using QR codes. A scammer puts a malicious code on a poster, parking meter, email or sticker placed over a real one. Scanning it sends you to a fake site that tries to steal logins or payment details. Checking the link before opening it is the best defence.
No tool can guarantee safety. This checker reveals the real destination and flags common warning signs so you can make an informed choice, but a clean-looking link can still be harmful. If anything feels off, do not open it.
Be wary of links that are not https, use a raw IP address, use look-alike or misspelled domains, hide behind a link shortener, or do not match the business you expect. Stickered codes placed over originals are also a red flag.
No. The code is decoded and checked entirely in your browser. Neither the image nor the link is sent to any server, so your check stays completely private.
